Šempeter v Savinjski Dolini (Šempeter v Savinj. Dolini)
Šempeter v Savinjski Dolini (, also / / ; Šempeter v Savinjski dolini) is a village in the Municipality of Žalec in east-central Slovenia. It lies on the left bank of the Savinja River east of Žalec. The Slovenian A1 motorway crosses the territory of the settlement northwest of the village core. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. The entire municipality of Žalec is now included in the Savinja Statistical Region.

The name of the settlement was changed from Sveti Peter v Savinjski dolini (literally, 'Saint Peter in the Savinja Valley') to Šempeter v Savinjski dolini in 1952. The name was changed on the basis of the 1948 Law on Names of Settlements and Designations of Squares, Streets, and Buildings as part of efforts by Slovenia's postwar communist government to remove religious elements from toponyms.
